Video Producer – Michael Fox

Executive Producer

Over the past 20 years, Founder of The Beach Michael Fox has created branded video content for some of the biggest names in the advertising and entertainment industries. As the company’s Executive Producer he works directly with clients to ensure excellence in all aspects of every project, from creative concepting through production and post-production.

Michael has produced on-air promos and branded and interstitial content for clients including Epix HD, Sundance TV, and Sportsman Channel, and agencies including Huge Inc., Noise, and Interbrand. He was Executive Producer for the PBS series Mike Colameco’s Real Food, which he helped rebrand and rename as well as overseeing field production and post. He produced and directed a PSA starring NY Knick Baron Davis for the NYC Department of Transportation’s Head’s Up campaign and did the same for a series of commercials reminding New Yorkers about obeying speed limits. A creative with a passion for food, Michael also directed and produced Biting into the Ramen Burger, a short that won him the 2013 Food Filmmaker of the Year award at the Food and Film Festival in Chicago.

Michael launched his career at MTV Networks, where he produced, edited, and shot Live From MTV.com acoustic sessions featuring Coldplay, The Cranberries, Jewel, The Verve Pipe, and Jimmy Eat World, among other headline entertainers. He produced, shot and edited 3 Questions with MTV, a recurring segment featuring interviews with internationally renowned artists including Coldplay, Trent Reznor, Mary J. Blige, PJ Harvey, Train, Busta Ryhmes, and Blink-182. Michael also produced the 2001 VMA interviews with U2, Shakira, and Nelly among many others. He also co-created and developed an artist backstory interview series that went on to become the foundation for an ongoing series on MTV.com.

The Beach is the successor company of Edit Beach, which Michael founded in 2010 to focus primarily on post-production. Previously Michael was an independent consultant, acting as Editor/Producer for some of the largest TV cable networks, including Spike TV, Sundance Channel, Epix HD, and MTV, as well as many advertising agencies. He is an active member of the Producers Guild of America.
